B2B Marketing Director

LocusLabs, a VC-backed software company, is leading the industry in smart building location technology. We are expanding our team and looking for a talented and motivated team member to help with our continued growth in the travel and hospitality industries and expansion across new verticals.

This candidate will be the first of the marketing team and lead its growth as we expand. The role reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies across new and existing verticals. This person must take initiative and ownership of all marketing activities and work closely with the global Sales and Product teams to understand and respond to needs. The candidate must be motivated by the opportunity to make a big impact for the organization and have experience allocating budgets to achieve measurable impact. We are accepting candidates with 6 or more years of experience, and we require a natural leader in this role who has a solid baseline of knowledge in the space, and who can grow with the role and the company.


  • Work with Product and Sales teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new products and targeted verticals.
  • Manage and deploy budget efficiently in the execution of co-developed multi-channel marketing strategy; Manage necessary resources, and ultimately a team
  • Collect and report metrics that track to KPIs - adapt plan accordingly
  • Create and optimize processes that ensure best practices in cross-channel lead generation
  • Manage and develop company brand and voice cross-channel
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and refine in-depth subject matter expertise for product capabilities and features across the product portfolio
  • Partner with the Product & Sales teams to establish and refine strategic positioning and go-to-market (GTM) planning for new products, modules, and features
  • Manage Product Marketing deliverables across each stage of the GTM process and across all channels
  • Develop & execute in-depth marketing & content calendars (newsletters, social media, customer case studies, web pages, press releases, trade shows, etc)
  • Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database
  • Become a thought leadership voice for the company by bringing new ideas to the table to help enhance our place in the market
  • Champion the customer by diving deep into how our products are used across multiple industries and customers and provide end-to-end perspective on how we could better serve our customers to our product teams


  • 6-10 years experience in a B2B SaaS marketing or product growth role
  • An understanding of the B2B SaaS business and the marketing technology landscape
  • Baseline knowledge of marketing landscape including content development, social media, SEO, PR, advertising, and lead generation
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • Data-driven mindset and ability to specify tools to generate necessary data¬†
  • Experience and track record of managing people, agencies and freelance contractors
  • Quality copywriting and story-crafting experience is a plus
  • Experience at a startup is a plus
  • Ability to drive results and communicate effectively across organizational teams
  • Team-oriented leadership personality, good organizational skills, and ability to understand when/how to delegate and when to escalate
  • Technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Salary based on experience; meaningful stock options; Full-time position, ideally in Oakland on a regular basis but will consider the right remote candidate.
